CNN cancels ‘Reliable Sources,’ host Stelter will leave network

Brian Stelter will depart CNN as the network cancels its long-running talk show “Reliable Sources,” a spokesperson for the network said Thursday.

Stelter’s parting with the network comes as a result of the decision to end the show, the spokesperson said. He has hosted the show for nine years.

“We appreciate his contributions to the network and wish him well as he embarks on new endeavors,” the CNN spokesperson said of Stelter.

The final episode of "Reliable Sources," which first aired three decades ago, will be on Sunday

“We are proud of what Brian and his team accomplished over the years, and we’re confident their impact and influence will long outlive the show,” said Amy Entelis, executive vice president of talent and content development of CNN Worldwide, in a statement.

While in college at Towson University, Stelter began blogging about cable media, eventually leading to a job as a media reporter for The New York Times before he took the post at CNN in 2013.
