Roku, the widely popular internet television service, will no longer offer RT among its channels, a company spokesperson told POLITICO on Tuesday.
Roku had previously pulled RT earlier from its offerings in Europe. It is now expanding that policy globally.
The streaming company is the latest player in the broadcasting space to distance itself from the Russian network. DirecTV also announced that it would cease offering RT America. Canadian cable broadcasters also have pulled RT off their platform.
RT is a Russian state-controlled international television network. It has been widely criticized as being an arm of Russian propaganda efforts and forced to register as a foreign agent under Department of Justice scrutiny in 2017.
This is a developing story.
